Feast of Weeds

Recently I have been making wearable recycled art out of delicate woven shielding from old SCSI cables. Here are some pictures.

Weeds are often delicious, useful, healing or beautiful. They are ambitious and energetic. They are spiky and intractable. They thrive in the sparsest and rockiest soil. They are seldom appreciated for their thorny virtues. Weeds are metaphors for challenging ideas that might prove useful, or forgotten, rejected parts of ourselves that suddenly burst into flower or thorn.

Josie Porter's sculptures incorporate a range of materials including much-altered found objects. She is fond of unsettling metaphors and luxuriant color and texture.

Her Web design work is expressive, unique, and usable.
