So you thought those old SCSI cables in your garage were useless...
These wearable sculptures are hand-made of recycled aluminum mesh cable shielding with other materials mentioned below, using techniques I've invented.

Aluminum doesn't tarnish or rust, sparkles, takes color well, and is delightfully light. The wires are very fine, and some of the woven shapes are hollow. They'll hold up fine if you take care of them, but if you put something heavy down on top of one of these little sculptures you will probably damage it. The pin/pendants are ready to wear as pins, and have a loop on the back so you can hang them from a chain or cord.

Vines necklace

An unruly romp inspired by my passionflower vine. This is huge and dramatic. Heavier than most because of its scale, this is lighter than it looks, because my materials (aluminum mesh and velvet) are intrinsically light. The imbedded moonlike bead is opal glass . The pod-shaped "jewel" is fused glass. The dangling leaf is made of colored mother-of-pearl. The overall color is soft silvery green, with some of the velvet shading into mauves, lavenders and blues.
Velvet/Wire cord has links that provide about 2" of adjustability

Dragonfly pin

A tribute to a strange and lovely creature, in silvery green and coppery colors. Large enough to be striking, but sparkles with delicate details. Light despite its size because the body and wings are tinted aluminum weave, the sparkling eyes are acrylic.

Oroboris necklace

Inspired by the myth of the world serpent, which stretches around the earth with its tail in its mouth, symbolizing the infinite. A great gift for your favorite herpetologist or Slitherin!
